Privacy Policy

Summary

The Tapd app does not collect, sell, track, or share personal data. The app does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, third-party tracking SDKs, accounts, cloud sync, or a hosted backend. The Tapd website does not use analytics or collect signup information.

Support Email

If you email Tapd for bugs or support, your email address and message are used only to respond to your request. Tapd does not sell or share support emails for advertising or tracking.

Data Stored on Your Devices

The iPhone app stores the computer IP address or URL, port, and Watch device name so it can send setup details to your watch. The watch app stores the computer IP address or URL, port, selected controller mode, device name, and pairing token so the app can reconnect to your Tapd bridge. The pairing token is stored in Keychain. The Tapd bridge stores its local settings, current pairing code, paired device name, and pairing token on your computer.

iPhone to Watch Sync

When you tap Send to Watch, Tapd sends the IP address, port, pairing code, and device name from the iPhone app to the Watch app using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This setup message is used to complete local pairing and is not sent to Tapd servers.

Local Network Communication

Tapd sends review commands over your local Wi-Fi network to the Tapd bridge. These requests may include your pairing token, device name during pairing, and review commands such as show answer, answer, undo, bury, or suspend. This traffic is used only to control your review session in real time and is not sent to Tapd servers.

Motion and Gesture Data

Gesture Mode uses watch motion sensors to detect wrist gestures. Motion readings are processed on the Watch for gesture detection and are not stored or transmitted to Tapd.

Review Content

Tapd can display basic review state returned by the local Tapd bridge, such as whether the reviewer is on the question or answer side and the active deck name. Tapd does not collect your cards, notes, deck content, or review history.

Children's Privacy

The Tapd app does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If Tapd's privacy practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated.
