Description

Tapd is an iPhone and Apple Watch controller for Anki Desktop. Use the iPhone app to enter the local IP, port, and pairing code from the Tapd add-on, then send those details to Apple Watch and control reviews from your wrist. Choose simple buttons, Focus Mode, Crown controls, Double Tap, or gesture controls for the review style that fits your session. Tapd runs on your local Wi-Fi network with no account, cloud backend, analytics, ads, or paid API.

Review Notes

Tapd requires the Tapd iPhone app, Tapd Apple Watch app, and the companion Tapd add-on for Anki Desktop. To test, install the Tapd add-on from AnkiWeb with download code 862977605, restart Anki, open Tools -> Tapd, start a review session, enter the displayed local IP address, port, and 6-digit pairing code in the iPhone app, then tap Send to Watch and open Tapd on Apple Watch.

Archive the Tapd iOS scheme for App Store Connect. The embedded Watch app supports running without the iPhone app installed, so Apple Watch users can install and launch it from the App Store on Apple Watch.

Use the iOS bundle ID, com.virajrao.tapd, when creating the App Store Connect app record. The watchOS bundle ID is embedded in that same upload.

Archive check: the archive should contain one top-level app, Tapd.app, with the Watch app embedded at Tapd.app/Watch/Tapd Watch App.app.
